Creating a volumetric body with the profile-function?
Actually I don´t achieve one actual aim in SketchUp. Perhaps the idea of doing it with profile-builder is wrong and I should do it completely another way?
Goal:
Having a rectangular surface; clicking that; having SketchUp draw some kind of Box on it, wich is 10cm thick and to each side 10cm broader than the initially activated surface.
Will such a thing be possible in ProfileBuilder or another AddOn of SketchUp in an automated way?
Actually I got to the point, where PB4 creates the vertical "walls" of the body, where they should be (by just using a single line as profile, wich follows the contours with an offset of 10cm. But I can´t imagine a way to make SketchUp close that form to a volumetric body....
...does anybody have an idea?
...did I describe the problem in an understandible way?
...do you need additional screenshots to get my point?
I would be so grateful if anybody could jump in and tell me a solution to get to my aimed goal?

Hello Dave and community,
thank you very much for your reply ;-)
I was aware, that my goal doesn´t really fit the functions of the profile builder, but couldn´t imagine a more appropriate way to get to my aim.
Please check out the following sheet in hope, that I´ve described the problem and actual solution in an understandible way.
Does anyone have a better solution for me? :-) -
Hey Dale (this time with your correct name^^),
thank you for that reply!
What a pity, that there doesn´t seem to be a better solution in sight....but on the same hand: thanks for the compliment!
As my boss is totally okay with the improvement, that we´ve reached with the actual solution, I am gonna lay this aside and keep the actual flow, until someone perhaps adresses me here with some alternative idea :-)
Thanks, greetings from Germany and all the best to you!
