Trying to make a wooden beam containing materials. How can I best make this work? I tried both profiles and assemlies without luck. What I am trying is the model to have the different materials (end wood) when extruding.

Can anybody help? Click picture for link to model

  I would make this into an assembly composed of 3 profiles.  Why doesn't that work for you?

  I believe what he is asking for is for the end of the solid piece of wood to have a different texture than the top/side as it's extruded.

  If that's the case, it's not possible.

  However, if it is not important to have the Profiles solid, you could create this effect visually by making the end caps with the different texture 'start-only' and 'end-only' components of an assembly.  Then, make the 'solid' pieces of wood using polyline profiles (so that they won't have an end-cap)
