SKIMP latest update seem crash my commuter
I am dealing with a very big file, which I already reduced to size of 159 035 faces and 80 420 vertices in Blender.
My work college was able to import it into SketchUp with Transmutr and I was hoping that Skimp will be able to deal with it as well. I never had any issues with Skimp beforehand. I have to add, that before opening the file the extension asked for update, so I did proceed with it.
Now, every time I am trying to import the above mentioned terrain as an fbx with Skimp, the computer crashes in a very unusual way. It basically just slows right down, to the point that it is a struggle to shut it down or restart it. Obvious, I am trying to avoid Forced Shut Down/Hard Shut Down.
Is it possible that there is a bug in the new update? Or does it need adjusting?
I would like to know if anybody else have experienced any changes in Skimp since the new release or if someone could tell me what would be the limit to Skimp in terms of file size (in terms of faces and vertices).
Thanks, K

Yes. Here it is.
Skimp is freezing, before the opening window is up, so I don't even have a chance to get to the settings.
Also, can I find information about maximum files size, that SKIMP is able to open? I guess it's the the edge and face count that I have to look out for.
Thank you.

Can you confirm that it freezes when showing 'Joining Vertices'? I was able to reproduce the freezing using multiple versions of Skimp 2.0. However, it imported fine using Skimp 1.2.
You can download Skimp 1.2 here (scroll to bottom): https://skimp4sketchup.com/download-skimp/

Thank you,
Will Skimp 2.0 be BUG fixed anytime soon? I assume that it was updated to improve the EXTENSION as I have a perpetual license, I am hoping to take advantage of the benefits.
Also, would it be possible to get an insight on the maximum size SKIMP can manage to open.
Thank you

There is no maximum size Skimp can open. The limit would depend on your system RAM.
Unfortunately, this particular bug could take quite a while to diagnose and fix. I suspect that something unique in this particular model's geometry triggered the bug. However, I imagine you can still utilize Skimp 2.0 for other models.
