How do I align Placemaker Data with a model that is already in progress?

I have several projects that are already underway that I'd like to bring Placemaker data into. Is there a way to align my model with the imported data? I see how to import data but it falls just off of where my building model is and slightly rotated. Thanks!

  The PlaceMaker data should be created and imported in its own file -- NOT ROTATED -- and then that file can be linked into the already underway project. The linked family (of placemaker data) should then be able to be rotated without distorting the aerial or other imported data

  ah, thanks, that's very helpful. 

  is there any thought to adding some functionality where a user might specify an insertion point on the data they're bringing in and having it align to the Survey Point or Project Base Point?
