A settings dialog was added in BoolTools version 2.2.0. Below is a brief explanation of the settings and when they should be used.
Normally, it is recommended to have all settings OFF as shown below. This will ensure BoolTools 2 operates as fast as possible. Enabling the various settings is only needed when you are unable to get proper results with the settings disabled.
Super Robust Mode
Try enabling this setting if your boolean operation is not working as expected.
Merge Coplanar Faces
If your objects are comprised of heavily triangulated or coplanar faces, you can try enabling this setting to increase the chances of a successful operation.
Small Model Optimizations
If your objects are small or have very tiny edges, and the boolean did not work, try enabling this setting.
Heal Solids
This setting will attempt to close any holes in the solid objects before and after the boolean operation.
Propagate Materials
This setting will apply the materials of the input objects to the faces of the resultant object.
Soften Edges / Soften Angle
This setting will soften and smooth the edges of the resultant object based on the angle.
