Profile Builder - Items on layers

Don't know if you take feature requests or not, but would anyone else like to be able to place components/profiles on different layers within Profile Builder?  That way when the items are inserted into Sketchup they already reside on their respective layers.

  Hi Matthew,

  Yes, we always take requests!

  Are you referring to Profile Members and components within assemblies?  

  For Profile Member parts, you can click the 'edit profile' button and set the layer.

  For Components parts, first set the layer of the an instance of the component in your model.  Then, use the Assembly dialog 'pick from model' button to select the component that has the set layer.

  When you build the assembly now, the profiles and component parts should be on the chosen layer(s)

  That's exactly what I meant, guess I'm so used to drawing everything on Layer 0 it didn't occur to me to set the components to the desired layer before hand.  Thanks!

  Hello ! I'm a new user of your plug-in, and I have exactly the same need. Components already in their own layers...

  So setting the layer of the an instance of the component before creating the assembly works fine, except for Span.

  Whatever the layer set for a component in "Span" section, when building the assembly, the component seems to be in Layer0.

  I'm I wrong or is this a bug ?

  Yes, this sounds like a bug.  We will make note of it and plan to fix in the next update.  Thank you for bringing it to our attention.
