    Hi Mate,

Just downloaded the Extension, great work so far.

I agree with your naming convention; would you like a catalogue from an AU Steel Supplier? I can send over which will help.

    • Is the naming convention above acceptable?

Maybe - strictly speaking. But I developed a different approach. In order to sort and find profiles easier (using native tools), I have named my components by leading with the Profile/Part designation, followed by the size e.g. PFC250, SHS89x6.0, UB360_45, C20024, Z15015. This made life a lot easier. If you lead with the dimensions, it all becomes a hot mess when exporting lists to excel, finding components in the model etc.

    • Should the 'x' be upper or lower case?

Lower case seems to be the industry standard.

    • Should decimal dimensions always be rounded except for hollow sections (as shown above)

    Yes, typically.

Also, I am looking for this info for AU profiles:

Try here, if the link doesn't work, contact me.

Thanks Nigel - you suggest this name: UB360_45.  In Canada, our convention for this would be UB360x45.  What about using that same convention for the UB and UC profiles for Australia?

Nigel - BIG THANKYOU for the link to the liberty catalog!  Just what I needed!  I might be able to release the AU library this week!

"In Canada, our convention for this would be UB360x45.  What about using that same convention for the UB and UC profiles for Australia?" Makes sense. No argument from me.

"I might be able to release the AU library this week!" Now we are talking!

Dale, on the shop drawing/BOM/Lists side of things - Could you tease us with a bit more on what we can expect? Maybe even forecast a schedule of when we might get our hands on a Beta version?

Nigel - The Liberty catalog PDF you provided does not include SHS, RHS, or CHS profiles.  Do you know where I could find tables for these profiles that include outer corner radius and cross-sectional area?

Regarding BOM and reports, I recommend using Quantifier Pro for the time being.

    Hi Dale,

I'm checking to see if we can add further profiles like C Purlins & Z Purlins to the Australian library. These are widely used for structural assemblies. Thanks in advance.

+1 on the C Purlins & Z Purlins. And add the cleat connections to beams and columns to go with Purlins!

Thanks Jason and Nigel - can you provide a table showing standard dimensions for these shapes?  We would certainly like to add support for these shapes in the future.

Hi Dale, Lysaght is one of the oldest continuous manufacturers in the country, available nationwide. Probably a good source to consider as a standard. See pages 7,17,18 of the pdf below.

I tried the link myself and yes there is some error. Can you manually type the below and try

When I tried this method it worked for me.

Got it - the problem was there is an extra space at the end of the link - I've edited your previous links so they work now.
