Error Saving Assembly

Win 10, SKP 2021, PB3

I've got this message often. Usually just change the folder and done.

But today after I edit my assembly, I can't save it (replace the original), save to another folder or name.

Please help

  Hi Joseph,

  Can you please open the Ruby Console while saving the assembly (Extensions -> Developer -> Ruby Console or Window -> Ruby Console for old SketchUp versions) and let me know if you see any error messages? If you see errors, please copy and paste the error in to your response.  Thanks!

  I am having a similar issue, 'Error saving assembly'. On SU Pro 2023, Win11. When I go to save it, there is no file type preloaded (skp). I've started from scratch several times, uninstalled and reinstalled.

  Somehow I was able to rebuild my assembly and save it. Apparently by rebuilding my sub-assembly span. as far as I know the same I had done before but this time it worked? There was some strange persistence as if the assembly dialog remembered a previous assembly, reverting to an outdated sub-assembly name.

  I'd be curious if the error from the ruby console I posted above reveals anything so I could learn from it. I honestly don't know what I did or how I fixed it, but it burned up a lot of time.
