Editing An Assembly Removes Hole?

Hi all,

Just starting out with Profile Builder to see if it can replace my current BIM workflow... 

I've created an assembly that has a 2x6 stud wall, gypsum finish, insulation, cladding, foundation below, etc. Once I've added a hole to place a window, if I then go to the assembly to modify one of the profiles (for example, to make the stud wall taller than the rest of the profiles), the hole will disappear. 

Is there a specific workflow that will allow the holes to remain if I need to modify a wall assembly or will I have to keep re-making the holes when I edit the wall?

  Not to my knowledge. I believe you have to remake the hole. If you have standard openings the process can be rather quick. Not ideal but that’s the only way I know how.

  Hello - thanks for your question!  We are working on improving PB so that holes will be maintained in assemblies.  But for now, you would have to remake the hole as Omar says.
