If you are seeing gray areas within the Imagery that you imported into PlaceMaker, the problem could be inadequate video memory.
Nearmap imports especially result in a large number of high-res textures being imported into your model. If your computer's video card has inadequate memory, you may see something like this:
If you are seeing this type of result after importing imagery, try the following:
- Open SketchUp
- Go to Window->Preferences->openGL
- Make sure that 'Use Maximum Texture Size' is unchecked
- Restart SketchUp
By disabling maximum texture size, the imagery will not be as clear inside the SketchUp viewport, but it should fix the gray areas.
Another option is to try opening your model using a computer that has a dedicated video card that can handle the large amount of texture memory required for your import.
