Using the PlaceMaker plugins for SketchUp and Revit, you can import imagery, roads, paths, buildings, and trees onto any terrain surface in your model.
Open the PlaceMaker dialog and click the button to set the Target Terrain.
Next, click a terrain surface in your model. The terrain does not need to be imported previously using PlaceMaker. The source of the terrain does not matter.
After you click a terrain, you will get asked if you want to create a region to cover the terrain.
If you click 'yes', PlaceMaker will create a new import region that precisely covers the extent of the target terrain. Click 'no' to use a custom region.
Now, when the PlaceMaker viewport is visible, the target terrain extents will be represented in semi-transparent blue for visual reference.
With the target terrain chosen, you can now perform subsequent imports onto the terrain if you have the 'Merge with Terrain' checkbox enabled.
You can perform new (fresh) imports onto terrain or select past imports from the history tab and place them on the target terrain surface.
