This feature is useful when you want to only view the members that are parallel to a particular grid line.
In this example, we'll right-click grid line '2' and choose 'Isolate on Grid Line' from the DECAsteel context menu.
Now, only steel members that are on grid line '2' will be visible. All other members and grid lines will be hidden.
To view all members again, use the right-click context menu again and choose 'Disable Isolate'
'Disable Isolate' will result in all members becoming visible as shown below.
Tips
- The threshold distance for which members are considered to be 'on a grid line' is controlled by your current Standard. Use the 'Isolation Threshold' setting in the Grid Lines section of your standard to adjust the threshold distance.
- After using 'Isolate on Gridline', it can be useful to create a SketchUp scene that saves the visibility of the steel members along with the style and camera location. This scene can be a useful for modeling and when exporting drawings to Layout.
