This section contains standards for bolted connections including hole clearance, edge distances, gauge, and pitch.
Default Bolt Hole Diameter = The typical bolt diameter used for connections
Min Bolt Hole Clearance = Bolt hole diameter must be at least equal to the bolt diameter plus the minimum hole clearance specified here. Otherwise, you will see an error message.
Min Rolled Edge Distance = The minimum distance between the center of a bolt hole and a rolled profile edge (such as an I-beam flange)
Min Sheared Edge Distance = The minimum distance between the center of a bolt hole and a sheared (cut) edge of a member or plate.
Gauge refers to the distance between bolt holes across a steel profile. Pitch refers to the distance between holes along the length of a profile.
When generating bolted connections, DECAsteel will use the specified gauge and pitch settings where possible.
Column Flange Gauges = A pipe | separated list of allowable guage distances for drilling holes through a column flange
Column Web Gauges = A pipe | separated list of allowable guage distances for drilling holes through a column flange
Beam Flange Gauges = A pipe | separated list of allowable guage distances for drilling holes through a beam flange
Channel Flange Gauges = A pipe | separated list of allowable guage distances for drilling holes through a channel flange
Angle Gauges = A pipe | separated list of allowable guage distances for drilling holes through an angle profile
Primary Bolt Pitch = Standard distance between bolt holes in the longitudinal direction of a steel member
