New in v4 is the ability to create a copy of a part with a specified offset.
This can save a lot of time when creating an assembly comprised of many similar parts.
For an example, consider a road assembly comprised of several road lines. Navigate to a road line part, and click the duplicate part button.
After clicking the button, a small dialog will open allowing you to set the relative offset for the duplicate part. If both offsets are zero, the new part will be in the exact same position as the current part. If you want to offset the new part 12 inches to the right of the original part, enter a right / left offset of 12". A negative value here would offset the part to the left.
After clicking OK, a copy of the original part will be created that is positioned based on the offset values. Here, the new road line is positioned 12" to the right of the original line.
Another use of this feature is for a fence comprised of multiple wires spaced evenly.
Since the last-used offset value will become the new default, it is simple to create multiple copies with the same offset in only a few seconds.
